All You Have To Do Is Use Water
Since about 80% of the human body is made up of water,
we are in fact, what we drink. The daily water requirement of a human body is at least 8 glasses of water. If you can get it up to 10, that will be perfection. A lot of people know the skin and beauty benefits of water, but what some people don't know is that water is as important for hair growth as it is for skin glow.
Water is an essential part of hair growth and maintenance. It affects hair growth directly both from the internal and external application.
Lack of adequate water in the system will lead to dry and frizzy hair, and could eventually stagnate hair growth. This is because the cell division that needs to take place for hair growth to occur will be stopped due to dehydration. Water helps in hair growth. It helps combat hair thinning and breakage.
Getting enough water into the body ensures:
- stronger hair as water strengthens the cuticle of your hair and nails.
- Hair thrives in a moist environment and water is the best lubricant.
- Of course, adequate intake of protein and fatty acids play vital roles also
Water vs Dandruff
Dandruff appears due to irritation which is caused by dehydration and can be stemmed by adequate water intake. Water combats dry scalp, leaving your hair moisture-rich and rife for hair growth. Through hydrolysis, water generates electrical energy which is of core importance in hair generation. Soft water warm showers open hair pores. Cool water to rinse after, tighten those pores and closes the cuticle, preventing the accumulation of dirt, and leaving your hair glossy and easy to manage.
Use of Water When Styling
Water is the best styling agent there is as wet hair strands separate the hydrogen bonds in the hair. Restyling your hair while it is wet changes the formation of these hydrogen bonds. The bonus is that water lacks the damaging chemicals the other styling materials contain.
It is important to know the source of your water if it is hard or soft water. Hard water causes brittle hair due to the undiluted harsh minerals it carries. Soft water is best and can be obtained from hard water through filters.
All these miracles won't happen in a day. It takes time and consistency since water ingested has to go through different processes before used by the hair. It takes a while to see the results, but it is worth it. So with that said, drink your water.
